The Care and Use of the Cerra Water Pitcher

Bioceramic technology creates water that is very different from what most people consume. It is important to understand how the Bioceramic process works and how to care for the Bioceramic device. Exposure of water to the Bioceramic materials changes the water’s physical and chemical properties in a dynamic way. The water becomes alkaline and obtains the ability to act as a very efficient antioxidant. This process also restructures the way the water molecules interact and creates water which is far easier to absorb into the body and into the cells.
The CerraWater pitcher contains a cartridge in which the bio ceramic materials are located. It is extremely important to activate the Bioceramic materials according to the instructions on the package. The cartridge should be soaked in water for 15 min. after which two pitchers of water are poured through the cartridge while it is in place in the pitcher. Once you have done this, the pitcher is ready to use. The first water that is poured through the pitcher may have some fine charcoal residue in it which looks like a slightly gray color in the water. This is perfectly normal and will clear away during the second pitcher of water which is also discarded.
If the water flow through the cartridge stops, a very simple procedure will restore normal flow. Simply remove the cartridge from the pitcher and shake it three times. Reinsert the cartridge and pour one pitcher of water which is then discarded. You may notice some charcoal residue in this water which is normal. This will not be present in the second fill of the pitcher.
The Cerrawater cartridge should always be kept wet once it has been activated. If it is allowed to dry out, its ability to create antioxidant water  can be diminished and may require anther soaking for 15 minutes . It is advisable to refill the pitcher after each use of antioxidant water. This way you always have water ready whenever it is needed. One of the main advantages of the Bioceramic technology is that as long as the water is in contact with the Bioceramic materials it will retain its antioxidant and alkaline qualities. Electrically produced alkaline water loses its qualities within a very short period of time.
Cerrawater cartridges last from 2 1/2 months to as long as five months. Their life depends on the amount of usage and the amount of mineral content in the water which is poured into the pitcher. Soft water contains much less mineral content and thus will extend the life of a cartridge significantly. Extremely hard water will shorten the life of the cartridge as will increased usage for large numbers of people. Water flow through the cartridge will slow down and water will not taste as good whenever the cartridge is reaching the end of its life. If you have the ability to test for pH levels or antioxidant levels you can determine when the cartridge is weakening.
Note the time period for the life of your first cartridge and set the manual calendar on the CerraWater pitcher top for the same time period. As a convenience it is advisable to order new cartridges when your last cartridge is inserted into the pitcher. This way you always have a cartridge when one is needed. Cartridges come in packs of three which will last most people about a year.
The CerraWater pitcher should be cleaned periodically depending upon the amount of use. For most people, cleaning the pitcher every two weeks is sufficient. Pour out all the water in the pitcher and remove the cartridge.  Wash the pitcher with normal dishwashing liquid and rinse it thoroughly. Drain out all tap water and dry the outside of the pitcher. Reinsert the blue insert into the pitcher and the cartridge into the cartridge holder. Refill the pitcher with water and resume use.
Water is the only liquid that should be poured into the CerraWater pitcher. One can use tap water, bottled water, distilled water, reverse osmosis water and any other drinkable water. This is one of the many advantages of the CerraWater pitcher. If for some reason any other liquid is poured through the pitcher cartridge, it is likely that the ability of the cartridge to create antioxidant water will be compromised. Juices, soft drinks and alcoholic beverages should not be poured through the CerraWater pitcher for any reason.
The CerraWater pitcher is made of the finest chemical free plastic in the world. It is designed to give years and years of trouble-free performance. When cared for properly it should produce the best water available anywhere for many years.
